Five Master Edits

Contrast 

In this film clip from a Netflix series "Stranger Things, Season 2, Episode Nine", The episode ends, and the camera starts to zoom out of the school. The shot then starts tilting to the right then the camera shows the "upside down" which is an alternate dimension existing in parallel to the human world. This transition is an example of contrast because it transitions from the normal school to a haunted school with a giant monster looking over it. It's the opposite of what's actually happening. 




Parallelism 

In this film clip from a movie "Forrest Gump". The movie starts with the main character (Forrest Gump) talking to a woman on this bench next to him. He then starts to talk about his shoes, and the scene makes a transition from present him to past him. This transition is called Parallelism because it cuts from one point in time to another. Another reason why it is a good scene is because it zooms into his face and transitions to his younger self, then zooms out.




Leitmotif

In this film clip from the movie "The Avengers." During the movie, there's a battle in New York where the avengers ( a group of superheroes ) are fighting against aliens. Bruce Banner is the tank of the team, and in this scene he turns into a giant monster and takes down a giant alien. The example of Leitmotif is that the famous avengers theme song plays because some epic fighting is about to happen.

 Spider-Man 3 (2007) I chose to comment on a few of the camera angles in the 2007 movie “Spider-Man 3” because I love Marvel movies and especially the original Spider-Man movies. The producers that made this movie were geniuses. Their camera work was just magnificent. The movie had so many great, camera shots. Even though it had a lot of CGI, the camera angles were still excellent. It had a variety of different camera shots that were in articles  Different Camera Angles Create Different Emotions  and  Use of Long Shots in Film .  In this scene, Peter Parker, also known as Spider-Man, was having trouble sleeping. The reason behind this is that he was having a nightmare of his dead uncle. When this was occurring, a symbiote was consuming Peter. I love this extreme close-up shot because it shows Peter's horrified reaction and his eyes being in complete shock. The scene also ends in a head-on shot. This scene starts after the last scene ends. Blog Post 1 - Beginning of Film

  This week, the crew began filming. Because the story/film is mostly on high school sports, the majority of the filming took place during the school day. All of the angles we used were excellent. This is a perfect dolly shot where we see Brett talking to his classmate about an upcoming game. We picked this shot because the film will be school-related, the background clearly shows that it's on campus. This is an excellent angle shot of Brett's coach discussing what's next in his baseball career. This is one of the final sequences which is why we see him getting accepted to the Broncos. Their facial expressions are also visible from this viewpoint.

Blog Post 2 - Second day of Film

 Our second filming day required more time and resources. For instance, we have more people and more theme-based stuff. The cameraman is here filming. trying to acquire the best possible angle for one of the clips. The environment is also appropriate for our film's concept. This is a different viewpoint that we utilised. This is the scene where Brett enrolls in his new school. We used props to make it look more realistic, as you can see.
