The images prioritized in the opening sequence are a haunted Asylum in the forest. In it there is a two people that look evil.

What connotations do the images carry? 

The connotations that the images carry are scary, manic, and evil. When the cops take the women to the cop car, she uses evil powers to hurt them and tries to escape.

How is genre reinforced through symbolic and technical codes from the outset? 

Genre is reinforced through the powers that the women has. Sci fi features themes of advanced science and technology, and when the women uses her special powers, it fits with the theme. Since in reality we don't have super powers, the theme fits when the women uses her powers since it could be an advanced science.

How does the film establish an enigma from the outset? 

It establishes an enigma from the outset by making the audience question who is the women, why the women is getting taken away, and how does she have powers.

What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience? 

To show the audience of a usual Sci Fi, the film begins with a person with superpowers, it sticks with the advanced theme and creates mystery. It appeals to aspects of the genre and the audience.

How has technology been used effectively? You might want to consider camera angles, transitions and editing techniques.

Technology is used effectively in the opening shot, the shots that it takes are low angles and Tracking or panning shot. This creates the sense of mystery and spooky. The camera shot of the haunting asylum is very unique, and the low angles of the patients makes the mood fit.

Blog Post 1 - Beginning of Film

  This week, the crew began filming. Because the story/film is mostly on high school sports, the majority of the filming took place during the school day. All of the angles we used were excellent. This is a perfect dolly shot where we see Brett talking to his classmate about an upcoming game. We picked this shot because the film will be school-related, the background clearly shows that it's on campus. This is an excellent angle shot of Brett's coach discussing what's next in his baseball career. This is one of the final sequences which is why we see him getting accepted to the Broncos. Their facial expressions are also visible from this viewpoint.

Blog Post 2 - Second day of Film

 Our second filming day required more time and resources. For instance, we have more people and more theme-based stuff. The cameraman is here filming. trying to acquire the best possible angle for one of the clips. The environment is also appropriate for our film's concept. This is a different viewpoint that we utilised. This is the scene where Brett enrolls in his new school. We used props to make it look more realistic, as you can see.
